  1. This ZIP file contains a number of Shareware components,
  2. demonstrating one possible mechanism for licensing.
  3. The included components are :
  4.  
  5.     TSysInfo    A System Information component,
  6.             providing both design-time and run-time
  7.             access to various Windows system
  8.             resource information.
  9.  
  10.     TVerInfo    A File Version Information component,
  11.             providing both design-time and run-time
  12.             access to File Version resource
  13.             information (you will need a resource
  14.             editor to create this information for
  15.             your own apps).

  17.     TStatusBar    A 5-pane status bar, complete with
  18.             time-of-day clock, KeyCaps and NumLock
  19.             status, progress gauge and status text.
  20.             Each Panel can be configured separately
  21.             at design time and reconfigured at
  22.             run-time, if required.

  25. Also included are a windows help file and the keyword file for merging the
  26. components into Delphi IDE help.

  28. Component Installation
  29.  
  30. To install these components, we suggest that you create a new
  31. sub-directory of your main delphi directory (e.g. c:\DELPHI\cmpnts
  32. where c is the drive where you installed Delphi), and extract all
  33. the files in the ZIP file into it.  After that add this directory
  34. to your LIB search list (Options/Environment - Library) and then
  35. add the 3 components SYSINFO.DCU, VERINFO.DCU and STSBAR.DCU and
  36. rebuild your Delphi library (remember to back up your old one as
  37. a precaution - better safe than sorry).  Do not add LICINFO.DCU
  38. which is used by these components to carry out licensing checks.

  40. Helpfile Installation
  41.  
  42. Run the HELPINST application provided with DELPHI (\DELPHI\HELP directory)
  43. to merge the help keywords. Open the Main Keyword file and add the supplied 
  44. Keyword file (LCSCMPT.KWF) to the file list and save the project.  This adds
  45. help for the components into the main Delphi Help Index and allows you to get
  46. help by pressing F1 in the object inspector or highlighting code in your unit
  47. files.

  50. Registration

  52. To register the components mail Compuserve 72773,2106 quoting the component 
  53. name(s) and how we can contact you.

  55. The Cost is GBP 35.00 + VAT(17.5%) or USD 50.00 for all three components.
  56. Individual components can be purchased if required please contact us.
  57. Educational and Sitewide licenses are also available.

  59. A Compuserve shareware registration ID will be available shortly for VISA/MASTERCARD
  60. payments.  Registration gives a license for royalty free distribution of the component
  61. in your applications and removes the popup dialog on component load.
